What challenges did you face in your job search?
My largest obstacle was that I didn’t know how the job application process worked. I had heard that it was a lot more than just clicking “submit” on a job posting website, but I didn’t understand how else I could get my résumé in front of a hiring manager. I was doing the same thing that all of the other hopeful applicants were doing.
The second biggest challenge I faced was the résumé itself. The world of résumés is not a standardized one and there are so many different options and formats.
Working with Job Search Master Class® addressed all the questions I had about résumés and what to do and what not to do with my own. Through JSMC, I perfected my résumé and was able to tailor it to present my skills and abilities to all hiring managers.
How did you use Job Search Master Class®?
The flow of the class is outstanding. Yes, there is a lot of content, but it is truly valuable. I studied at home, about two hours a day.
I learned that my current way of operation was grossly inefficient and needed to be changed. The mix of audio recordings, handouts, and assignments I completed were “evaluated” and returned with corrections and helpful advice. That really set me in the right direction.
Working with JSMC addressed all the questions I had about résumés and showed me what to do and not to do with my own. Through JSMC, I perfected my résumé and was able to tailor it to present my skills and abilities to all hiring managers.
What were your key benefits from Job Search Master Class®?
I was a true victim of the scarcity mindset. Thinking there isn’t a perfect job out there for you is very common. It is important to remember that you are very qualified, but what is even more important is to understand how you can demonstrate your qualities to the hiring manager.
